Naga Traditional New Year Festival

Yangon - Myitkyinar (11-Jan-2014)

• Activities:

  Yangon - Mandalay - Myitkyinar by flight, attend Kachin Traditional New Year Festival (Manau) and leave for Tanine by 4 wheels drive jeep

You will take off a flight from Yangon to the heart of Kachin - Myitkyina city. As you approach to the place, you will be picked up and carried by our tour operators to Kachin New Year Celebration Ground. You can take some photos and join the celebration. Later, a Kachin traditional lunch is waiting for you to serve at the hotel. Then, you continue the trip to Tanai on the Ledo Road. You will be present at Tanai in the late evening, enjoy dinner and spend a night at guest houses.

Tanine - Namyun (12-Jan-2014)

  Take journey to Shinbweyan along the Ledo Road, continue to Namyun

Finishing breakfast in the early morning, you hit the road to Shinbweyan on Ledo Road. Along the way, you get an opportunity to experience while crossing the two rivulets, including Tawan and Tayon on Z-crafts. You will enjoy lunch at Shinbweyan, then continue heading to Namyun. Having a buffet dinner and spending night-time at Naga Traditional Style Guest House in Namyun.

Namyun - Pansaung (13-Jan-2014)

  Travel to Pansaung, sightsee along Ledo Road and No Return Lake

Breakfast is served, you get on cars and travel to Pangsaung. Along the Ledo Road, you can witness the remnants from World War II in person. When you arrive at Pansaung, you will wander around Lake of No Return, discover its special name through many legendary stories related to World War II and enjoy lunch box. Later, you have some free time to experience the lake yourself. Then get back to Namyun for dinner and night-rest.

Naga Ceremonial Pole (14-Jan-2014)

  Participate at the Ceromony of erecting the Naga Ceremonial Pole and sightseeing

After enjoying breakfast, you will witness the preparation for the festival. The traditional Naga Ceremonial Pole will be set up at the festival grounds. Many Naga clans wear their own traditional costumes and join the festival. Lunch-break is up, you travel around the villages and the two of Namyun according to your own plan, or enjoy your free time doing favorite things. Later, you have dinner and a good night at Namyun.

Naga New Year Festival (15-Jan-2014)

Today, the Official Opening Ceremony of Naga New Year shall be celebrated on the festival grounds in the early morning. People will share the traditional food and rice wine with Naga elders in the community. Afternoon comes, you have a great time to enjoy the Naga Hills. Later, as the night fall downs, everyone can take part and enjoy in welcoming the Naga New Year as dancing around a large bonfire.

Namyun - Tanine (16-Jan-2014)

• Activities:

  Transfer back to Tanine, see the old airport used by English in the Second World War

After enjoying an early breakfast, you will say farewell to the Naga Festival grounds. As you are departing away, don’t forget to enjoy the charming morning views from Naga Hills and mountain range. You will relax and have lunch in Shinbweyan. Also, if you are interested, you can explore the old runway that was used by the Allied Forces Aeroplane during the World War II. Later, heading to Tanai for dinner and night-rest.

Tanine - Myitkyinar - Yangon (17-Jan-2014)

• Activities:

  Depart Tanine to Myitkyinar, sightsee the origin of Ayarawaddy River, fly back to Yangon
